“Dedication Makes the Difference”

,Brl ,K

As you may know, the UEB Code Maintenance Committee is continuing to refine the braille code and is making slight changes to meet the everyday use among the 25 English-speaking countries that use UEB. This section will feature new code changes as soon as they are approved by the International Council on English Braille (ICEB). Meanwhile, you can always check your work by going to the Rules of UEB at http://iceb.org/ueb.html.

ICEB Newsletter

Greetings! ⠠⠛⠗⠑⠑⠞⠬⠎⠖

Attached is the March 2022 issue of the newsletter from ICEB (International Council on English Braille).

Particularly worth reading in this issue are Kathy Riessen’s notes about contracting the letters “th” in the word “Beethoven” and, separately, a rather shocking adjustment to the timeline of how Louis Braille developed his system of writing using dots.

The newsletter is also available in .docx and .brf formats, if you need one of those formats instead of pdf, please contact Kyle.
